I began studying the classical guitar at age 15, and later played in a “New
Age” folk-rock band called Anahata. In 1978 I began the serious study of
classical music, under the tutelage of Celin Romero, of the world-famous
Romero Guitar Quartet. I started my college and university studies in 1979,
and graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music
in 1983 (and was selected as the “Outstanding Graduate of the Year” by the
music department faculty). Two years later I received my Master’s Degree,
also from SDSU. In 1995 I began composing my own music for the classical guitar,
and that is mostly the music I play today. I have one solo recording available,
Songs Without Words, and have played on a number of other recordings with
former Anahata band members Timmaris McDowell and Diane Bardwell (www.HeartCenteredMusic.com).
My music
and playing also appear on audio and video cassettes of the posture flows of
Peri Ness, creator of Synergy Yoga® (www.Synergy-Yoga.com),
and guided meditation CDs of Walter Holtisch (www.WalterHoltisch.com).
I have composed more than 45 pieces for the classical guitar, and will soon
be setting up a home recording studio. So, more recordings are in the
works...
